Orange Glazed Chicken Milanese Recipe

Ingredients

For the Chicken

  • 2 lbs chicken breast

  • All-purpose flour

  • Panko bread crumbs

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 2 eggs, whisked

  • Avocado oil (for pan-frying)

For the Orange Glaze

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

  • 1 shallot, minced

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • Zest & juice of 3-4 large oranges

  • Zest & juice of 2 lemons

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 2 Tbsp coconut aminos

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • 2 Tbsp coconut milk

  • 1 Tbsp flour

Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Chicken

Place the chicken between two sheets of parchment paper and pound with a meat tenderizer until even in thickness.

Step 2: Set Up the Coating Stations

  • Plate 1: Flour, garlic powder, onion powder

  • Plate 2: Whisked eggs

  • Plate 3: Panko bread crumbs

Step 3: Bread & Cook the Chicken

Heat avocado oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Coat each piece of chicken in flour, then egg, then panko. Pan-fry until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Set aside.

Step 4: Make the Orange Glaze

Blend all glaze ingredients (except flour) until smooth. Pour into a pot over medium heat, stirring constantly. Once simmering, whisk in the flour and continue stirring until the sauce thickens into a glossy glaze.

Step 5: Assemble & Serve

Pour the vibrant orange glaze over the crispy chicken, garnish with citrus slices, and serve immediately. Enjoy!
